Lawn Fawn: Monster Mash

I've been making lots of new cards lately using some new stamp sets I've bought from lawn fawn, and I'll slowly be posting about them all. So if you see a lot of posts of cards that look similar, its because they were all made with a certain look in mind :)

First up its a really cute set from Lawn Fawn called Monster Mash.

I made a few cards using this set and some of the dies from Pretty Pink Posh. I'm finding them so useful lately. They're so useful to create toppers for a nice quick and simple card, or you can use them to layer up on a more complicated card. I also like the fact that the little windows are an optional feature.

The little bow on this card was made from some twine from American Crafts. I believe it is called Premium Ribbon Brights, 10lb hemp spools. You get 12 colours and a total of 100yd (91.4m).
I simply tied a little bow out of the twine and attached it using some multi medium matte from Ranger.

I used Spectrum Noir marker pens to colour in all of my little monsters, this was actually my first time colouring with them, I think I did okay :P

My card bases are Papermania Kraft A6 cards and envelopes, they were a little bit larger than I wanted so I chopped a little bit off them when I had everything assembled.

The base matt for each of these cards is a die cut from lawn fawn from the small stitched rectangles set.

Products I used:
  • Lawn Fawn Monster Mash stamp set
  • Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles dies
  • Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 die
  • Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 2 die
  • Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 die
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • White card stock
  • American Crafts Premium Ribbon Brights, 10lb hemp spools
  • Assorted paper pads
  • Multi Medium Matte
  • Foam Tape/squares
  • Spectrum Noir marker pens
  • Papermania Kraft A6 Cards and Envelopes

Top Tip Tuesday #5

Store all pens & markers horizontally. This helps the ink flow when you use them, especially if they are double ended.

Pandamonium Best Wishes

I really love this Panda stamp set from Mama Elephant. I stamped two of the little pandas out in black ink and then fussy cut them out.

I also die-cut a stitched film strip from Pretty Pink Posh out of white card stock to put the pandas on.

I then found some papers in my stash that coordinated with each other and layered it all together.

Lastly I stamped the greeting. This is from a Clearly Besotted set called Many Mini Messages. I love this set because the greetings are a nice size so can fit in many places on a card.

Products I used:

  • Mama Elephant - Pandamonium Stamp Set
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Stitched Film Strip die
  • Clearly Besotted - Many Mini Messages
  • Assorted patterned papers
  • Black ink

Top Tip Tuesday #4

If you can’t handle ribbon (because I always struggle with gluing ribbon down, it can be so difficult ) make paper ribbon, it copes with glue a lot better! If you do want to use normal ribbon however, I would suggest using a tape pen, or double sided tape rather than a wet glue, it just copes better.

Happy Birthday - Wplus9 Unforgettable

I just couldn't resist making another card with the Wplus9 Unforgettable stamp set, I can see this set rapidly becoming one of my favourites.

For this card I die cut a stitched film strip from Pretty Pink Posh (which I LOVE!) and coloured an elephant from the set using distress markers and water in pumice stone and tattered rose.

This sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted stamp set called "many mini messages" which has so many great sentiments in it!

I then used some of my patterned papers and layered them together to create the card background.

Unforgettable

I have been waiting to use this stamp set and I finally got the chance to and I love how this card turned out.

I stamped the dangling elephant onto some white card stock and watercoloured him in using two distress markers, pumice stone for his body and a little bit of tattered rose for his ears, and then die cut him out using the coordinating dies.

I cut out the PPP stitched duo 1 die from some white card stock and stamped the sentiment using memento tuxedo black ink, and the string for the elephant to dangle from.

I then cut out two matts from the avery elle paper pad and rounded the corners with my WRMK corner chomper. To finish it off I added a couple of coordinating pearls.

Products I used:
  • Wplus9 - Unforgettable Stamp Set
  • Wplus9 - Unforgettable coordinating dies
  • Pretty Pink Posh  - Stitched Duo 1 Die
  • Distress Marker - Pumice Stone
  • Distress Marker - Tattered Rose
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink pad
  • Avery Elle - The Sorbet Collection 6x6" paper pad
  • Docrafts - Me to You (Easter) - Adhesive gems and pearls
  • Papermania A6 White Card Blanks
  • White cardstock

Top Tip Tuesday #3

Make some cards with no sentiment, then if you ever need a quick card but don’t have the time to make one, you can use one of the blank ones and just add a sentiment.

Welcome Baby

I absolutely adore this little elephant from Clearly Besotted Stamps and I thought it would be perfect to make some cute baby cards in typical boy and girl colours.

The elephant itself is a build-able image, you can stamp the patterned ear and the image coming out of the trunk separately, that's how I was able to stamp these elements in another colour.

I replicated this card with a slight twist but with a pink colour scheme.

I was very happy with how these cards turned out, I think the images are so cute and great for this kind of card. And they also combine brilliants with the alphabets from Lawn Fawn.

Products I used:

  • Clearly Besotted stamps - Baby Shower
  • Lawn Fawn - Milo's ABC's stamp set
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Stitched Duo 3 die
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Stitched Duo 1 die
  • Avery Elle - The Sorbet Collection Paper Pad (6x6)
  • Avery Elle - The Brights Collection Paper Pad (6x6)
  • Avery Elle - Fog Pigment Ink
  • Avery Elle - Aquamarine Pigment Ink
  • Avery Elle - Sea Glass Pigment Ink

Clearly Besotted - Happy Birthday Husband

Today I have a card that I made using a variety of products from Clearly Besotted Stamps and one Avery Elle die.
  • Clearly Besotted - Birthday word die
  • Clearly Besotted - Typed Alphabet stamp set
  • Clearly Besotted - Mini Bunting Die Collection
  • Avery Elle - Elle-ments - Simply Said Happy Die
  • Docrafts - Papermania - Textured coloured card stock
  • Trimcraft - Wooden Alphabet stamps

Now I don't have a husband, but this was made for my grandad from my nan. His birthday was a while ago so I'm okay to be posting this :P

I attempted to make this card quite masculine so took a green/blue colour palette. I cut out several of the bunting dies and stamped out "HUSBAND", with one letter on each one, I then attached them to an ordinary piece of gardeners twine and strung them across the front of the card.

The rest of the greeting was created by using the two word dies and cutting them out of some lime green card stock. the "to my" was then stamped in black ink using some small alphabet stamps.

Thanks for reading :)

Lawnscaping Challenge No. 103 - Dimension

I started this card by stamping out the little hedgehogs in memento tuxedo black ink and colouring them in with a selection of brown Spectrum Noir markers.

The card panels is cut out using the Pretty Pink Posh stitched duo 2 die, onto which I stamped the greeting, again using tuxedo black ink. I also stamped the little heart from the set between the two hedgehogs and coloured that in with a red marker.

Before adhering the panel, I chose some matching twines to wrap around the background piece to lift the white panel and give a little more visible dimension other than foam tape.

I then layered everything together with foam tape and squares to create a really dimensional card.

Products I used:
  • Lawn Fawn - Hedgehugs stamp set
  • Pretty Pink Posh - Stitched Duo 2 die
  • American Crafts Twine
  • Spectrum Noir Marker Pens
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Foam Tape
  • Lawn Fawn - Small Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Assorted patterned papers
  • Papermania Kraft A6 cards and envelopes
I have entered this card in the Lawnscaping Challenge No.103 as it is all about dimension! How Perfect!

Top Tip Tuesday #2

Keep a notebook beside you, in your craft bag, or on your bedside table to jot down card making ideas or layouts when they spring to mind. That way, if you ever need some inspiration you can look in your notebook full of ideas that you’ve had and use one of them.

Home to Nest Collection

I've been replenishing my collection of cards that Lisa sells for me at her Fitness classes (more information below) and I decided to make some more spring like cards. So I thought I would make some cards using my Home to Nest A4 Ultimate Die-cut & Paper Pack from Docrafts as the theme is perfect for spring.

Here are some of the cards I made. I used kraft card blanks for the bases of the cards.

Any questions, just leave me a comment :)

Avery Elle - Berry Good

I've been wanting to use this stamp set for such a long time. I stamped and coloured the fruit images a while ago but only just got around to making them into cards. The images were watercoloured with distress markers.

I then found out some coordinating orange, green and yellow patterned papers from my stash for the bottom layer of the cards.

The labels on each card are die-cut with the Avery Elle You're Invited die from white card stock. I love this die, its so versatile and can be used on any kind of card.

I was quite pleased with how these turned out considering I made them quite quickly, I think it it helped that I already had the fruits stamped, coloured and cut out.

Pretty Pink Posh Haul

A quick post today about a purchase I made from Pretty Pink Posh! I won a gift voucher on one of Paulina's blog hops, which was perfect because it could put it towards my order which meant I could finally justify having these beautiful dies shipped from America. So, here's what I bought:
  • Top Row (Left - Right) Stitched Duo 3 Die
  • Stitched Duo 2 Die
  • Stitched Duo 1 Die
  • Stitched Film Strip Die
  • Bottom row (Left - Right) Sweetheart Mix 6mm Sequins
  • Sparkling Clear (Cupped) 6mm Sequins

I am so happy with the service as they arrived in the UK pretty swiftly after I ordered them, which i was very happy about, and I just know that these dies are going to get a lot of use! I'm not really a sequin user, yet :P I could be converted, that's why I just ordered two packets of sequins to try out in colours I know I'll use.

Any questions, please ask :)
