Hey Little Magpie Grab Box Haul Feb 2016

Hello there!

Today I wanted to share with you lovely lot the contents of my Hey Little Magpie Grab Box. I ordered this on Saturday night (20/02), it was posted on Monday (22/02) and I received it yesterday (23/02), I call that excellent customer service! I wanted to get this up pretty quickly to give you a chance to go and grab one while they are still in stock (here) if you like the look of mine.

Obviously this is a mystery box so the contents of your may be very different to mine. The boxes cost £24.99 and shipping was £2.95.

So this is what I saw when I opened my box and doesn't just look so amazing! You get £75's worth of goodies in these boxes and you can really tell.

The box had a nice selection of thing, all of which I was happy with and think I can use in my crafty projects, whether that be on cards, scrapbook layouts or in my Project Life.

In this picture on the left are some Heidi Swapp Coloring Cards. It is a pack of 12, one for each month with the year left blank which is great! If I don't use them this year I can save them, brilliant! I love both sheets of stickers, especially the pebbles collection, they will go great with my February photos that I am yet to scrap. The 6 pack of Gossamer Blue tags are also lovely and I really enjoy using tags in my scrapbooking. There were a couple of Christmas bits, some title cards and frames but I don't mind that, I actually still have some stuff from Christmas 2015 to scrap so I can use them in that or save for next year. There was also a couple of loose My Minds Eye paper bits both of which I can add to my stash and get used.

Top Tip Tuesday #11

Hello everyone! Top Tip Tuesday is back! I've been saving up my top tips and have a little bit of a bank built up now, so without further or do, lets jump straight back in with Top Tip #11.

Get a good die storage system that works for you!

I have the Stamp and Die Storage Folder from Papermania by Docrafts. It is black with white polka dots and filled with sleeves which contain a magnetic sheet. This is a brilliant way to store your dies and keep them organised. My only problem is that I hate to throw away the packaging, so somewhere in my flat I have a box stuffed with all the packets that the dies came out of, just in case!

I now find that I'm using my stand alone dies a lot more now that they are a lot easier to access and all in the same place so I can just flip through the pages and see what I fancy using.

I got some extra A4 magnetic sheets from eBay which is a great place to pick some up for not very much money!

DIY Flair Badges

Hello there! Today I thought I'd show you some quick and easy DIY flair badges that I made, inspired by the lovely Adele (Inkie Quill). I will leave her original video below.

To make these lovely embellishments you will need:
  • Paper Scraps
  • 1" Inch Circle Epoxy Stickers
  • Scissors
  • Heart Punch (optional)
  • 1" inch circle punch (optional)
  • Tiny Word Stickers (optional)

To make these little badges all you need to do is take your scraps and an epoxy sticker and simply stick it to the paper. I didn't have my 1 inch circle punch to hand so simply cut them out with my scissors. To make some a bit different I punched some hearts out of silver and gold glitter paper and layered them in between the paper and the sticker. I also added tiny word sticker to a few. You can really play about with them and use your imagination to create some unique embellishments.

Check out Adele's (Inkie Quill) video here where she tells and shows you how to make them!

Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you make any of your own :)

Scrapbooking Haul - Hobbycraft - Feb 2016

Hello There! So I went on a little shopping trip over the weekend so I thought I'd share with you what I bought. I've also included a couple of other bits I bought recently that I thought you'd be interested in.

First up was these Artbin containers which cost £4 each. They fit 12"x12" sized things in perfectly. I bought 2 with a use for each in mind. One will be for general paper storage (my loose papers currently live in a cardboard box that is getting a bit battered). The second I want to keep for making my own scrapbooking kits out of my stash. I don't subscribe to any kit clubs but I like the idea of crafting from a certain collection of items and trying to use them up.

I got two mini craft punches in a heart and a star shape which were £1 each.

Valentines | You Make Me Hoppy

Hello there! Today I wanted to share with you the Valentine's card I made for my boyfriend. To make this card  used the new Clearly Besotted set called Jump for Joy.

I stamped out the frogs holding hands image and a lily pad and coloured them in using Spectrum Noir markers. I adhered them to a white tag cut out using my Pretty Pink Posh dies using foam pads and them stamped on the sentiment using memento tuxedo black ink.

I cut out a rectangle of paper from the 6"x6" Crate Paper Party Day paper pad and adhered this to the card base with a piece of funky foam. I stamped a little heart above the frogs that also came in the set and coloured it in with a red pen.

I finished this card off by rounding the two left hand side corners which is a look I really like.

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to see your valentines cards, link me in the comments!

Dreamees | Birthday Wishes

Hello there!

Today I've got another card I made using some Dreamees products. I really like the way this one turned out. I experimented with embossing on vellum to created the flowers. I did attempt to curl the petals but within a couple of hours they had gone back to flat again. Nevertheless I like the look of it.

I'm also really loving the Capsule Collection paper packs by Papermania/Docrafts at the moment. I bought a few a while ago from The Works and have recently rediscovered them. They are so handy when you need to make something quick as all the patterns and colours coordinate and you dont need to go searching for the perfectly matching coloured paper for hours (I know I have a habit of doing this).

Products I used:

  • Dreamees Tacked and Treasured Stamp Set
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
  • Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • Docrafts 8'x8' Midnight Blush Paper Collections
  • Vellum
  • Gold/Copper embossing powder
  • Heat Tool
  • Flat Back Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by!

Dreamees | Friendship

Hello there, today I have a card I made with some Dreamees products.

I've mentioned their products before but if you still don't know who they are go over to their website and check them out!

To create this card I used:
  • Dreamees Gift Sentiments A5 Stamp Set
  • Dreamees Ditsy Stitches A5 Stamp Set
  • Docrafts 8'x8' Wild Rose Paper Collection
  • Cream Card/White Card
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Gathered Twings Distress Ink
  • Ink Blending Tool
  • Flat Back Pearls
I'm currently struggling with regular posting on my blog due to not having daylight when I'm at home to take photos. I'm also experimenting on where the best place is to take them which is hard when there is no natural light left when I get home from work.

I'll get back into the swing of things though, I'm getting there slowly!

I hope you like this card. I sometimes enjoy making cards a bit different to my usual style and challenging myself.

Thanks for stopping by,
Hayley :)
