The Works Christmas Haul 2016

Hello! With Halloween over and Christmas under two months away I thought it was about time to start sharing my Christmas creations and before I can do that I need to show you some of my new Christmas supplies.

I've been busy getting festive recently and here are some of the goodies I've been using. A bunch of these things were sent to me by The Works and then I added to my stash with some bits I'd seen in the shop and really wanted. There's a good range of products in The Works at the moment so without further ado I'll talk you through what I got.

These products are from the Glad Tidings Collection by Dovecraft:
  • 5"x7" Scalloped Cards and Envelopes x 2
  • 6"x6" Paper pack
  • 4 Metal Charms
  • Paper Blossoms
  • Paper Lace Doilies
  • Sequins (I have an excellent idea to turn these into some Christmas shakers!)

These products are from the North Pole Collection by Dovecraft:
  • 6"x6" Paper Pack
  • Ribbons

These products are from The Night Before Christmas Collection:
  • 8"x8" Glitter Decoupage
  • 6"x6" Paper Pack

The other products in my haul are:

  • Make & Create Silver/clear Jewel stickers
  • Make & Create Pack of 6 Wooden Snowmen
  • Dovecraft Silver Pigment Ink
  • 4 x assorted wooden stamps by Dovecraft

I have linked below what I can find on the website but for things that aren't listed online try popping into your local works, they have an excellent selection of Christmas stuff at the moment, I would definitely recommend!

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more Christmas crafts coming soon!

Docrafts | Roald Dahl Collection Cards

Hello there! Today I want to share with you a collection of cards that I made using the Docrafts Roald Dahl Whoppsy Whiffling Stationary Pack that I got in a mystery box from Craft Superstore. When this collection came out I loved it but never bought myself any of it. I was a massive Roald Dahl fan when I was younger and crafting with this collection felt really lovely and nostalgic.

The collection is designed to make 24 cards (2 x 12 decoupage designs, 4 x 6 designs of A5 paper) but it also comes with some sheets of tags, toppers and alphabet stickers so you could easily make more than 24 cards.

Also in the collection you get 24 card blanks and envelopes, adhesive gems and ribbon. Pictured here are the 12 designs of decoupage that come in the collection all made up into cards.

I found this to be a lovely set that I could sit on the sofa (with my new lap tray!) in front of the TV and craft away without any real bother. The only extras you should need with you are adhesives and a pair of scissors (I didn't even get out my paper trimmer). With all the extra paper, tags and toppers that I have left I could easily make another 15-20 cards on top of the 24 that I've already made.

This kit also comes in a lovely sturdy box with a magnetic closure. When I've used up all the bits and bobs I'll definitely be keeping it as a storage box. The white wrap around label slides off and there's a beautiful design underneath.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you soon!

Docrafts | Folk Floral Mother's Day Cards

Good morning! I'd like to wish all the mums out there a very Happy Mother's Day!

Today I'm sharing a collection of Mother's Day cards that I made using the Docrafts Folk Floral Ultimate Die-Cut and Paper Pack. I also used some printed 6"x6" Card Blanks from the same collection.

This collection isn't specifically aimed at mothers day so I dug into my stash of dies and used a Clearly Besotted word die and a My Favorite Things Alphabet set to add the word mum to some of the cards.

I've mentioned these Docrafts sets on my blog before but they really are brilliant. The decoupage on these cards was so simple to put together and as all the pieces are die cut, all you need is some foam tape!

Lastly I wanted to show you the envelopes that came with the card blanks, aren't they beautiful! They add that little something extra that makes a handmade card feel so special!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Hayley :)

Docrafts | Little Meow

Hello there! Today I've got a couple of cards I made using a kit from Docrafts called Little Meow.

I managed to get this kit as a super bargain from TK Maxx, it only cost me £9.99 and it included:
  • Little Meow Ultimate Die Cut and Paper pack (48pcs)
  • Little Meow 6"x6" cards and envelopes (12pk)
  • Little Meow Die Cut Sentiments (2pk)
  • Little Meow Bows (12 pk)
  • Little Meow 4"x4" Clear Stamps (12pcs)
  • Little Meow 75x140mm Mini clear stamps (5pcs)
  • Glue Stick
I thought that was an amazing deal considering the Ultimate pack usually retails for £12.95!

Now, onto the cards that I made. I don't usually buy the ready made printed card bases but since they came with the kit I thought I'd give them a try.

For my first attempt I made up two of the decoupage sheets that come in the main kit. I just love these kits (I have quite a few of them) because they are so easy to make and instantly create a card, all you have to do is add a few embellishments.

I am definitely happier with my second card that I made. I did a bit of ink blending to tie everything together, a technique I've been getting into lately and quite liking and used some dies I've been wanting to use for SO LONG now which is part of the reason I think I like this card so much.

I have been in a bit of a slump lately with my crafting, I think it's down to the fact that I don't really get any time to myself these days. My daily routine seems to be get up, go to work, come home, cook food, eat food, watch a bit of tv, clean up, sleep, repeat, and to be honest, its a bit pants.

More recently I've been getting back into the swing of things so lets hope my positive attitude continues!

Back to the cards now, here's a list of the products that I used:
  • Little Meow Ultimate Die Cut and Paper Pack
  • Little meow bows
  • Little B Scallop Circles Dies
  • Lawn Fawn Stitched Square Dies
  • Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Dies
  • Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
  • Cream Card
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Adhesive Gems
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time!

Home to Nest Collection

I've been replenishing my collection of cards that Lisa sells for me at her Fitness classes (more information below) and I decided to make some more spring like cards. So I thought I would make some cards using my Home to Nest A4 Ultimate Die-cut & Paper Pack from Docrafts as the theme is perfect for spring.

Here are some of the cards I made. I used kraft card blanks for the bases of the cards.

Any questions, just leave me a comment :)
