How I Store... Wood Veneer

Hello there and welcome!

Wood Veneer are an embellishment I like to use quite often in my scrapbooking and Project Life and so today I wanted to show you how I store them. My collection has grown quite a lot and I found a perfect storage box for them in Home Bargains (you could probably find containers like this in many places - I've also seen them in Hobbycraft). I think this container was only around £1.50 and it's brilliant!

The best thing is the repositionable dividers. Each column has 3 sections and 2 dividers that can be left in or taken out to change the size of the space. It worked out perfectly for the amount of wood veneer that I had and even allowed me to keep the large wood veneer words in there too.

This container would also be great for organising any there small embellishments that you may have in your stash. I find I'm using my wood veneer a lot more now that they are stored this way because they are so much more accessible.

The only bit of packaging I kept was the back of the packet of words so I could easily see what words I have. To keep track of them I've been crossing them off when I've used each word so I know what I have left.

Let me know in the comments if you have any cool storage tips!

Thanks,
Hayley

Project Life 2014 Album Flip Through - Part 3

Hello again and welcome to Part 3 (the final part) of my 2014 Project Life Album Share.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing a flip through of my album, let me know if you would like to see my other albums in the comments and I'll crack on and get them finished :P

Click here for Part 1 and Part 2.

[This is a continuation of the Paris pages. I love adding splashes of gold to my pages, whether that's in the form of gold glitter or gold foil, I love it!]

[I also keep leaflets and business cards from places that we have been just so that I have different options to photos to put into my pockets]

[Alphabet stickers and washi tape are some of my favourite embellishments]

[I also like edging a photo with washi tape to make it fill the card a little more]

Some of my favourite cards/embellishments from my album:

Thanks for tuning in to my Album Flip Through and I really hope you have enjoyed it!

Let me know in the comments if you would like to see my other albums!

Thanks

Project Life 2014 Album Flip Through - Part 2

Hello there and thank you for joining me in Part 2 of my 2014 Project Life Album share. If you haven't seen Part 1 then you can click here.

Do you do Project Life? Let me know in the comments as I would love to swap ideas! :P

Hope you enjoy Part 2!

[I love using tiny word stickers, you might see them dotted about quite frequently on my spreads!]

[I like to keep events consistent. You may notice on my Paris spreads that I used to the same card collection (Sweet Edition by Becky Higgins) and tried to keep the embellishments fairly consistent too.]

[Keep little bits of ephemera, I kept all my metro tickets that we used in Paris and so popped some in my album]

[The bottom right photos here are some of my favs. It was a panoramic photo that I split in two and got printed on two speparate 6x4's. I think doing this looks really effective!]

Thanks for stopping by and stayed tuned for the final part (3) of my 2014 Project Life album on Wednesday!

See you there!

Project Life 2014 Album Flip Through - Part 1

Hello there! Today I wanted to share the first part of my 2014 project life album. I only started project life in September of 2015 but I decided I wanted to go back and scrap some of the big events that I had photos for in the project life style. My 2013 & 2015 albums are also documented in this way and for 2016 I am trying weekly spreads (it's going well so far!). 2013 & 2015 aren't quite finished but when they are I'll be sure to share those here too!

So without further ado, here is the first part of my 2014 Project Life Album.

Let me know in the comments if you do Project Life and what approach you have taken.

Enjoy!

[In this picture and the next you can see I've done a numbered series of photos. This is one of my favourite things to do as it guides your eye and makes you follow the story. It's also good for preserving the order]

[I'm quite lucky that my surname begins with a Q, it means I have an excuse to use up some of those pesky Q's that come in alphabet stickers!]

[On these two pages I tried to stick to a colour scheme. This was quite near the beginning of my Project Life-ing and I wasn't quite into my groove yet but I'm still pleases with the way they turned out]

[Not much embellishing on these pages, but sometimes you don't need to. The pictures are enough]

[I love using thickers as titles!]

Until next time... Stay tuned for Part 2!

Scrapbooking Haul - Supermart USA (Amazon) - March 2016

Another cheeky little haul for you today, I needed a serious top up of my thickers (I actually ordered this in February but came from America so only got to me in March - don't feel so bad about that now :P) As much as I love thickers, it does bother me when you get to the end of the packet and I'm struggling for vowels, what do you guys do with the left over letters? I need some tips!

Anyway, back onto the haul! Below is a bit of a close up shot of the thickers. I ordered these items from a seller on Amazon called Supermart USA. They are brilliant! Cheaper than buying these items in the UK, free postage from the US and no customs (as yet). I've ordered from them quite a few times and have never had to pay any customs. I will put the information about the items below each picture.

Enjoy!

Hello there! Today I have a massive haul to share with you. The Craftz Boutique recently announced that they were closing down and everything on their site is discounted. They stock so many brands and so I had a scout around the site and my basket rapidly filled up. Believe it or not this is my slimmed down basket...oops! The up side is that I definitely stocked myself up for a long time and everything was on sale and heavily discounted so I got more for my money!

[See further pictures for product details]

This is my whole haul! Because there's so much I will put the product names below each photo. Enjoy!

I got myself a selection of coordinating 12x12 papers, Simple stories cut aparts and some sticker sheets to add to my collection as I always admire them but don't have many in my statsh. Here's a close up of those lovely Cedar Lane Jumble Stickers. Tiny word stickers are a must in my project life and scrapbooking, if I could put them on every layout or card then I would! I love the phrases on this set too, hence why I bought 2 packs :P

Hey Little Magpie Grab Box Haul Feb 2016

Hello there!

Today I wanted to share with you lovely lot the contents of my Hey Little Magpie Grab Box. I ordered this on Saturday night (20/02), it was posted on Monday (22/02) and I received it yesterday (23/02), I call that excellent customer service! I wanted to get this up pretty quickly to give you a chance to go and grab one while they are still in stock (here) if you like the look of mine.

Obviously this is a mystery box so the contents of your may be very different to mine. The boxes cost £24.99 and shipping was £2.95.

So this is what I saw when I opened my box and doesn't just look so amazing! You get £75's worth of goodies in these boxes and you can really tell.

The box had a nice selection of thing, all of which I was happy with and think I can use in my crafty projects, whether that be on cards, scrapbook layouts or in my Project Life.

In this picture on the left are some Heidi Swapp Coloring Cards. It is a pack of 12, one for each month with the year left blank which is great! If I don't use them this year I can save them, brilliant! I love both sheets of stickers, especially the pebbles collection, they will go great with my February photos that I am yet to scrap. The 6 pack of Gossamer Blue tags are also lovely and I really enjoy using tags in my scrapbooking. There were a couple of Christmas bits, some title cards and frames but I don't mind that, I actually still have some stuff from Christmas 2015 to scrap so I can use them in that or save for next year. There was also a couple of loose My Minds Eye paper bits both of which I can add to my stash and get used.
[Products: Heidi Swapp Coloring Cards 12pk, Jillibean Soup Priceless Banner Bites, Fancy Pants Timbergrove Title Pieces (4), Pebbles Repeat Phrase Stickers (32), Elle's Studio Noel Frame (6), Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road by One Little Bird Die Cut Tags (6), MME Cut & Paste Adorbs "Be" 4x6 Journal Card, MME Miss Caroline Dilly Dally "Best" Title]

DIY Flair Badges

Hello there! Today I thought I'd show you some quick and easy DIY flair badges that I made, inspired by the lovely Adele (Inkie Quill). I will leave her original video below.

To make these lovely embellishments you will need:
  • Paper Scraps
  • 1" Inch Circle Epoxy Stickers
  • Scissors
  • Heart Punch (optional)
  • 1" inch circle punch (optional)
  • Tiny Word Stickers (optional)

To make these little badges all you need to do is take your scraps and an epoxy sticker and simply stick it to the paper. I didn't have my 1 inch circle punch to hand so simply cut them out with my scissors. To make some a bit different I punched some hearts out of silver and gold glitter paper and layered them in between the paper and the sticker. I also added tiny word sticker to a few. You can really play about with them and use your imagination to create some unique embellishments.

Check out Adele's (Inkie Quill) video here where she tells and shows you how to make them!

Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you make any of your own :)
